Question 1

How do Tally.so checkboxes, dropdowns and file uploads arrive in BytePhase?

Accepted Answer

BytePhase turns Tally.so's option IDs back into the text your customer chose, so a dropdown arrives as its wording and several ticked checkboxes arrive as one comma-separated value. File uploads arrive as links. Empty answers are left out. You then map each question to a BytePhase field in the Match fields step.

Question 2

How do I test the Tally.so integration before going live?

Accepted Answer

Open your form on tally.so and submit it once. The questions are captured in the BytePhase setup wizard for mapping. Until you press Activate, submissions are only logged as Received and nothing is created. After activating, you can retry that parked test from the Activity screen, or use Send test there to confirm a record is created.

Question 3

Can I connect several Tally.so forms to one BytePhase account?

Accepted Answer

Yes. BytePhase tells forms apart by Tally.so's form ID, so one Tally.so integration can carry several forms, each mapped on its own. A repair booking form can create self check-ins while a quote request form creates leads. Each form also has its own rule for when the customer already exists. Use Add another form to connect the next one.

Question 4

Does BytePhase send SMS through Gupshup if I have not set up another SMS provider?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for shops in India. When no SMS integration is active and marked as primary, BytePhase sends your SMS through Gupshup automatically and draws on your BytePhase SMS balance. If you later make Twilio or BulkGate your primary provider, your SMS go through that account instead, and only one SMS provider is primary at a time.

Question 5

Why do my Gupshup SMS show 'Rs.' instead of the rupee symbol?

Accepted Answer

For shops in India, BytePhase replaces your currency symbol with 'Rs. ' in every SMS before it goes out, to keep messages within India's DLT rules. For the same reason, the SMS signature you can set in BytePhase is not added to SMS from shops in India; it is only appended to SMS sent by shops outside India.

Question 6

Can a customer stop receiving Gupshup SMS from my shop?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each customer record has Notification preferences, where you can switch SMS off for that customer altogether or only for particular events such as invoices or payments. BytePhase checks these settings before every automatic SMS and skips the message if SMS is off, so the customer stops getting texts without you changing anything else.

Question 7

Can BytePhase text customers with international numbers through Twilio?

Accepted Answer

Yes. BytePhase sends every Twilio text in full international format. It uses the country code saved with the customer's mobile number, and if none is saved, your shop's own country code. A customer abroad gets your updates as long as their number carries the right country code and your Twilio account is able to send to that country.

Question 8

Can I add my shop name or a signature to texts sent through Twilio?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for shops outside India. Set an SMS signature in the notification signature settings and BytePhase adds it to the end of every SMS, after a blank line. If you run more than one business in BytePhase, each business has its own signature, and each text carries the signature of the business it belongs to.

Question 9

Which BytePhase messages can go out by SMS through Twilio?

Accepted Answer

Any notification with SMS switched on. In the default notification settings you choose, per event, whether SMS, WhatsApp, email or push is used. For customers that covers payments, bulk payments, review requests, delivery, invoices and quotations; for staff it covers job assignments, tasks and job comments. With Twilio as your primary SMS provider, every one of those texts goes through your Twilio account.

Question 10

Does BytePhase show whether Twilio delivered a text?

Accepted Answer

BytePhase records each text in your SMS history once Twilio accepts it, together with the message SID Twilio returns, the number it went to and your From number. It does not fetch later delivery receipts from Twilio, so to confirm final delivery, look up that message SID in your Twilio account.
